...let's all chip in, go to End of the Roll, buy a huge nylon carpet, and unroll it in the Roller Dome ...we can play there if someone brings a net until the weather gets better, sometime in mid August ....

Roller Dome? written by Rick Barkowski , May 19, 2009
Misha,
Could you expand on your idea of playing at the roller dome, do you work there? I'm not sure the roller dome could accommodate us, but I've never asked them about possibilities, I do know the rafters are extremely low, I think around 10 feet or so, So we would no be able to lob at all.

roller ball written by misha , May 19, 2009
...Rick! No I don't work there ...I've just skated there with the rest of the home schoolers ...yes, the ceiling is low (but much higher than ten feet, I think); the lighting isn't great; the rinks are hockey size with boards, so there is space ...I don't see why we couldn't get some portable nets and play there ...at least we could maintain some form ....the guy that runs it is very friendly (a Highland Park man) and amenable to different ideas, I think .....

Roller Dome written by oinkRobP , May 21, 2009
Hey Rick, You should chat with me about this. I know Alan Work personally and through soccer and ball hockey. Plus I am working with the indoor soccer and other users towards a group effort for the indoor facility you, I, Sukhi and Geof are on. Let's not get too many people involved in coordinating this project. We need to meet. Misha, Patty and others, thanks for your thoughts and support. PS the beams are at approx ten to twelve feet above playing surface.

Winter 2010 written by oinkRobP , January 07, 2010
Update Happy New Year to all!!! A small committee from the Tennis Club is working with the City regarding our eventual move to another site and the goal of having indoor facilities to use for winter and even inclement summer weather. We will keep you posted. In the meantime, please speak positively about the sport and the value of a year-round facility.
